Money and Items

Given the political instabillity of eastern europe paper currency isn't nearly as reliable as good old fassioned gold. As such Disharmony works on the gold standard. Small coins cast in solid gold will buy you a lot. There are also silver pieces and, and coppers to be found but they will be described in their worth compared to gold. As such you should keep track of your money in its gold worth.

Your message board signiture is where you'll keep track of your gold. You'll spend this on things like food. weapons, and lodging. Not to mention bribing when necessary.

You'll start with a generous supply of 50G. When not in an active quest you won't need to actually pay for food or lodging.

You aquire money by finding it while questiong, as a reward for completing quests, sometimes as a bonus for joining one, and by selling items. The sneakier types may also steal money and Aristocrats have other means of aquiring money. In addition CVD has a birthday rule in effect. On your birthday (your real birthday not that of your character) you get 20G for free. Devide this up between your characters as you please.

The following chart shows the value of money types you may find.

  • Coppers: 10 coppers equal one silver. 100 coppers equal to one gold. When coppers are found they are usually found in large numbers. However being made of such a practical metal as copper, coppers have other uses, for the creative type.
  • Silver: 10 silver are worth one gold. One silver is worth ten coppers. Silver is poisonous to lycanthropes.
  • Gold: One gold is worth ten silver or one hundred coppers. Gold is the primary currency and all prices will be listed in gold.

Though one may find these various currency throughout a quest, the guild will convert all their money to gold pieces at the end of a quest for the sake of conveniance.

Items, or posessions as they are also called, can be classified as three things: Items, Rare Items, and Legendary Items.

Items:
An item is anything you can own. Be it something purchased at the marketplace or something you've picked up along a jorney. This also includes non quest related personal items, and posessions you keep at your room in the inn. Anything and everything can be an item.

Rare Items:
These are things you can't normally just buy and are usually aquired while questing. They usually have a special purpose and are of course more difficult to aquire. Normally a quest master creates a Rare item for the purpose of a quest.

Legendary Items:
These items are incredibly difficult to find. One would be lucky to even see one much less own one. There are a finite numbers of Legendary items in CVD. These items will make themselves known in tiem and only the very most skilled players will ever hold one.
